Advancing Digital Safety for Pakistani Children
Representatives from UNICEF and Telenor Pakistan gathered with the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority, the National Commission on the Rights of the Child and National CERT to highlight growing collaboration on digital safety for children across Pakistan.
Speakers and partners described measurable progress in strengthening digital skills for children and caregivers and scaling awareness campaigns that have reached millions. The event reflected how coordinated public and private efforts can expand protective measures and build a culture of safe and responsible online behaviour.
Children at the event showcased their own awareness activities on safe and responsible digital use, offering concrete examples of peer-led learning and community outreach that reinforce everyday digital safety practices.
Organisers also previewed preliminary findings from the upcoming Disrupting Harm II study, which will inform stronger laws, policy measures and a national action plan to reduce online harm and improve protection systems for young users.
The message from partners was clear: sustained investment in digital safety is essential so every child in Pakistan can explore the online world safely, confidently and without harm, backed by effective policy, education and technical safeguards.
