Advancing Green Digital Infrastructure in Pakistan
Islamabad (28th October, 2025) – The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and the Ministry of Climate Change & Environmental Coordination (MoCC&EC) have formalized a memorandum of understanding to foster eco-friendly digital infrastructure and sustainable innovation across Pakistan. The agreement underscores a shared intent to prioritize green digital infrastructure in national planning and regulatory work.
PTA and MoCC&EC will work together to integrate environmental considerations into digital development, encouraging technologies and practices that reduce the carbon intensity of telecom and digital services. The collaboration aims to create conditions that support sustainable innovation while aligning digital growth with Pakistan’s environmental objectives.
By focusing on green digital infrastructure, the partnership seeks to enhance the resilience and long-term sustainability of the country’s telecom and technology ecosystems. Stakeholders in government and industry are expected to benefit from coordinated policies that promote resource efficiency, innovation, and responsible deployment of digital systems.
