Boosting CVE Communication Skills in Islamabad
UNODC, under the EU-funded Countering and Preventing Terrorism Project (CPTP) and in collaboration with NACTA, convened a three-day workshop in Islamabad to strengthen communication skills of 30 partner civil society organisations working to prevent and counter violent extremism. The programme was designed to boost CVE communication capacity so local partners can craft clearer, more effective messages.
Participants explored practical storytelling techniques, digital advocacy tactics and the principles of ethical communication, all guided by experienced practitioners. Sessions combined interactive exercises with contextual discussion to help organisations tailor content for diverse Pakistani audiences, including youth and vulnerable communities.
The workshop concluded with partners co-developing content and campaign concepts that promote peace, inclusion and community resilience. These collaborative materials are intended for use across social media and grassroots outreach to reinforce positive narratives and counter harmful messaging.
By strengthening CVE communication among CSOs, the EU-funded CPTP together with NACTA and UNODC aims to enhance coordinated prevention efforts across Pakistan and ensure that messages are inclusive, responsible and locally relevant.
