Driving Pakistan’s Economic Recovery with Business Leaders
At a Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry gathering, Barrister Danyal Chaudhry, Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting, said Pakistan’s economy has stabilized and is moving onto a path of sustained growth. The session was attended with Muhammad Hanif Abbasi, Federal Minister for Railways, presiding as the chief guest, highlighting the government’s engagement with regional business leaders as a key pillar of recovery.
Addressing the chamber, Barrister Danyal credited the private sector as the driving force behind renewed momentum, calling business leaders the backbone and heart of the government’s economic agenda. He contrasted the current outlook with conditions at the start of the administration and stressed that after a period of stabilization the country is preparing to accelerate its progress: “When we assumed office, Pakistan was facing severe economic challenges. Today, after a focused period of stabilization, we are not just walking; we are building the momentum to run.”
He acknowledged that difficult fiscal measures were necessary due to prior international commitments but assured attendees these policies are now being implemented by a capable team aiming for durable improvement rather than short-term fixes. As the economic recovery gathers pace, Barrister Danyal said the government expects a more favorable business environment and eased fiscal pressures that will support investment and expansion.
To illustrate institutional revival, he pointed to the significant turnaround of Pakistan Railways under the leadership of Minister Hanif Abbasi, describing it as tangible evidence of wider reform benefits. He also praised the RCCI for its role in regional commerce and pledged ongoing collaboration between government and industry to translate policy gains into business growth.
Looking ahead, Barrister Danyal emphasized sustained public-private partnership as central to national prosperity, urging business leaders to continue engagement so Pakistan can stand on its own feet and grow through coordinated efforts that reinforce the current economic recovery.
