Speaker Ayaz Sadiq Expresses Solidarity with Refugees Worldwide on World Refugee Day
Speaker Urges Global Effort to Safeguard Refugee Rights

Islamabad: On the occasion of World Refugee Day, Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, expressed heartfelt solidarity with refugees around the globe, particularly the Palestinian people. In his official statement, the Speaker conveyed his best wishes to all those forced to flee their homelands due to conflict, persecution, or disaster.
Sardar Ayaz Sadiq highlighted Pakistan’s longstanding commitment to humanitarian values, emphasizing that hosting Afghan refugees for over four decades stands as a powerful testament to Pakistan’s compassion and dedication to human dignity. He noted that, despite receiving limited international assistance, Pakistan’s efforts in supporting refugees set a commendable example for the global community.
The Speaker also paid tribute to the contributions of humanitarian organizations and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), acknowledging their crucial role in refugee protection and welfare.
Stressing the urgency of coordinated global action, Speaker Ayaz Sadiq underscored the need for joint efforts to ensure the safety and rights of refugees. He described the protection of refugees as a moral and humanitarian obligation, calling on the international community to take a more proactive stance in resolving conflicts that cause displacement.
He concluded by urging nations worldwide to play a constructive role in addressing the root causes of forced migration and to strengthen collective responses in support of vulnerable populations.
