Pakistan Iran Economic Cooperation Through Free Trade Zones

A high-level Iranian delegation has met with the leadership of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) to discuss expanding economic cooperation between Iran and Pakistan. The discussions focused on boosting trade, launching joint ventures, and increasing investment between the two neighboring countries.

The Iranian delegation was led by Reza Masrour, Secretary of the Supreme Council of Free Trade, Industrial and Special Economic Zones. Other prominent members included Mohammad Said Arbabi, Managing Director of the Chamber of Free Zones; Saeed Rabiei, Deputy Secretary of Free Zones; Ali Reza Khayyami, Director; Zahra Qadyanlo, Commercial Counsellor; Asif Ghias, Managing Director of Zenith; and Ms. Faiza Hussaini.

Representing the ICCI were President Nasir Mansoor Qureshi, Senior Vice President Abdul Rehman Siddiqui, Chairman Founder Group Shaikh Tariq Sadiq, Executive Members Mohammad Imran Minhas and Waseem Chaudhry, and Advisor to the ICCI President Naeem Siddiqui.

During the meeting, both sides agreed on the importance of enhancing collaboration in trade, investment, and industrial projects to strengthen economic ties. Reza Masrour highlighted the significant opportunities available within Iran’s free trade zones, particularly the Chabahar Free Zone, and extended an invitation to Pakistani business leaders to visit and assess possible investment opportunities.

The gathering underscores ongoing efforts by both nations to deepen economic relations and foster closer regional integration through practical business partnerships.
