Climate Risk Financing Initiatives in Pakistan Agriculture

A meeting between the GIZ team and key stakeholders in Pakistan introduced two major projects aimed at supporting climate resilience and sustainable development in the country’s agricultural and environmental sectors. Discussions centered on the Climate Risk Financing Solutions for Agricultural Value Chains and the Strengthening Capacities for Long-Term Low Emission Development Strategies, highlighting shared goals and potential areas for partnership.
Participants reviewed the Climate Resilient Punjab Vision and Action Plan, alongside ongoing efforts under the Punjab Green Development Project and other initiatives managed by the Environmental Protection and Climate Change Department (EPCCD). The meeting emphasized the importance of capacity-building and cooperative strategies, aiming to strengthen Pakistan’s readiness to address climate risks and advance low-emission development pathways. Future collaboration opportunities were discussed, setting the stage for enhanced integration of climate adaptation and mitigation measures across the region.
