Free Eye Camp Empowers NPC Families

The National Press Club Islamabad, in collaboration with Frontier Institute of Ophthalmology Hospital Private Limited, organized a free eye camp for NPC members and their families to provide accessible eye care services. The free eye camp delivered comprehensive eye examinations and on-the-spot consultations to attendees, aiming to address common ocular conditions and promote eye health among media professionals.

Leading the medical team, CEO Professor Dr Mushtaq, Consultant Dr Hassan Raza, and Head of Department Dr Maryam Umar conducted examinations and offered guidance on treatment and follow-up care. Patients received personalized advice and referrals where necessary, strengthening the support network for press community wellbeing.

Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon visited the event alongside Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists president Afzal Butt, NPC president Azhar Jatoi, secretary Naeer Ali and senior journalists. The minister commended the club’s leadership for arranging the free eye camp as a valuable service for members and urged that such initiatives continue in the future.

The collaboration between the National Press Club and the Frontier Institute of Ophthalmology highlights a practical approach to safeguarding the health of media workers and their families. The free eye camp underscored the importance of regular eye checkups and the role of local institutions in delivering community-focused healthcare services.
