IBCC Partners with Cricket Legend Mohammad Yousuf to Launch International Sports and Education Training Programmes

Islamabad: The Inter Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC) has entered into landmark agreements with educational partners and cricket legend Mohammad Yousuf to launch Pakistan’s first international Cricket Coach Management qualification, alongside a UK-based teacher and leadership training programme. These historic initiatives aim to integrate global standards into sports and academic leadership training, paving new pathways for youth development and professional growth in Pakistan.

The memoranda of understanding were signed in Islamabad by Dr. Ghulam Ali Mallah, Executive Director of IBCC; Mr. Javeed Anwar, Director of iLearn; Mr. Rehan Shahid, CEO of the Learning Resource Network (LRN); and Mr. Alistair Walker, CEO of Lewis School of English, UK. The ceremony was attended by prominent dignitaries and graced by former Pakistan cricket captain Mohammad Yousuf, who joins as Supervisor of Cricket Coach Education.

Under this collaboration, two major programmes will be introduced:

**Cricket and Sports Management Programme:**
For the first time, cricket coaching in Pakistan will be delivered through an internationally aligned qualification framework. Developed by the Learning Resource Network and delivered nationally via iLearn’s academic network, this programme will certify students aged 13–18 in Cricket Coach Management, with mentoring by Mohammad Yousuf. Participants will gain exposure through national tournaments and an exchange initiative at the Lewis School of English in the UK, receiving globally recognized, co-branded certifications.

**Teacher and Leadership Training Programme:**
Aimed at educational professionals, this week-long UK-based initiative will feature a three-day training session at Lewis School of English, an orientation at Solent University, and educational visits to Oxford and London. IBCC educators, school leaders, and staff will further benefit from international certification and institutional capacity-building, enhancing leadership and pedagogical skills in line with global best practices.

Dr. Ghulam Ali Mallah, Executive Director IBCC, emphasized the organization’s commitment to global collaboration, stating, “We are pleased to launch these pioneering programmes that promote global academic collaboration, sports education, and leadership capacity building in Pakistan’s academic landscape.”

Mohammad Yousuf highlighted the importance of the initiative, remarking, “This is a proud moment for me. Cricket is not just a sport but a way of life for millions in Pakistan. Through this programme, we’re creating structured, academic pathways for future coaches and leaders.”

Dr. Muhammad Zohaib Tariq, CEO of LRN, underscored the visionary nature of the partnership: “We believe in delivering qualifications that inspire transformation. These initiatives align with our vision to combine education, sports, and opportunity on a global scale.”

Alistair Walker of the Lewis School of English added, “This partnership is about more than learning, it’s about empowerment, global experience, and building bridges between institutions.”

Attendees at the ceremony included key leaders from IBCC, LRN, and Lewis School of English, demonstrating robust institutional support for the new initiatives.

These innovative partnerships signal a new era for Pakistani youth and educators, strengthening ties between national and international institutions and fostering excellence in both educational and sports sectors.
