Unlock SME Finance with DigiKhata and ABHI

ABHI Microfinance Bank and DigiKhata have agreed to a strategic partnership to unlock SME finance for merchants and small businesses across Pakistan by connecting digital transaction data with regulated lending channels.

The collaboration will let eligible businesses operating on DigiKhata’s ledger platform access structured financing from ABHI Microfinance Bank. DigiKhata’s app, widely used by retailers and traders to track sales, credit and inventory, creates digital transaction trails that ABHI can use for more informed credit assessment and risk evaluation.

Mariam Pervaiz, Chief Communications Officer at ABHI Microfinance Bank, said the tie-up reflects the bank’s focus on technology-driven support for smaller enterprises. The integration is intended to help firms obtain timely working capital and stabilise cash flows, supporting inventory management and longer-term growth through access to formal credit.

Adnan Aslam, Chief Executive Officer of DigiKhata, emphasised that turning digital business records into financial opportunity is central to expanding access to SME finance. The partnership aims to lower barriers for merchants who generate credible digital data but have historically struggled to access formal lending.

Present at the signing were Kabeer Naqvi, Entrepreneur in Residence at ABHI Financials, and representatives from both organisations. Industry observers say embedding finance within digital platforms can accelerate the formalisation of small businesses, improve credit inclusion and strengthen the resilience of local commerce across Pakistan.
