Ambassador Nizami Engages Romanian Gendarmerie
Ambassador Ilyas Mehmood Nizami visited the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Gendarmerie and was received by Major General Alin-Ionel Mastan, Inspector General. On arrival at the headquarters the ambassador was accorded a Guard of Honour.
During the visit the ambassador received a detailed briefing on the organisational structure and key functions of the Romanian Gendarmerie, including the force’s responsibilities for safeguarding diplomatic missions. The presentation outlined how the Romanian Gendarmerie is organised to deliver those core functions.
In discussions with leadership, the ambassador expressed particular appreciation for the services the Romanian Gendarmerie provides in protecting diplomatic missions in Bucharest. He highlighted the importance of continued cooperation to ensure the safety and security of diplomatic staff and facilities.
The visit reinforces practical engagement between Pakistan’s diplomatic representation and Romanian security institutions, underscoring the role of the Romanian Gendarmerie in supporting a secure environment for foreign missions in the capital.
