The Russian Embassy school in Pakistan presented a charming fairy tale for the New Year, engaging students and families in a theatrical celebration. The performance, presented as A Knock on the Door for the New Year, blended folklore and festive pageantry to mark the arrival of 2026.
Children performed alongside beloved characters including Baba Frost and his gentle companion Snow Fairy, facing off against a mischievous forest spirit named Lishye, the cunning witch Baba Yaga and a stern Snow Queen. In the story the antagonists abduct a horse that symbolised the coming year, threatening to spoil the season’s joy until the students banded together to recover it.
After the children restored the symbol of the new year, Baba Frost thanked them with gifts and offered warm wishes for joy, health and success in 2026. The event at the Russian Embassy school highlighted cultural storytelling and community spirit, giving students a memorable way to celebrate the New Year and strengthen ties between the embassy and local families.
