Iraqi Embassy Strengthens Ties with Pakistani MP

The Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Islamabad received Mrs. Shaghfta Joumani today as she met with Mr. Khaled Karim Muhammad Zankina on the occasion of his assumption of duties as head of the Iraqi diplomatic mission. The meeting took place at the embassy premises and focused on enhancing parliamentary and cultural cooperation between the two countries.

Shaghfta Joumani, a member of the Pakistani National Assembly and of the Iraqi-Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship Group, welcomed Mr. Khaled Karim Muhammad Zankina and conveyed best wishes for his new responsibilities. She underlined the parliamentary group’s determination to deepen cooperation and understanding between Pakistan and Iraq across political, parliamentary and cultural spheres.

In response, Khaled Karim Muhammad Zankina expressed gratitude for the visit and reaffirmed that Iraq values its longstanding ties with Pakistan. He said the Iraqi Embassy will prioritise efforts to promote and expand collaboration in political, economic, cultural and parliamentary areas to serve the shared interests of both nations.

The two sides exchanged friendly talks on strengthening bilateral relations and explored practical ways to enhance parliamentary exchanges, cultural programming and consular cooperation. The meeting in Islamabad underscores continued parliamentary diplomacy and the mutual commitment of both capitals to develop concrete channels of cooperation.
