Expanding Access through Microinsurance Partnership

ABHI Microfinance Bank Limited has entered into a strategic agreement with EFU Life Assurance Ltd to distribute life insurance products through ABHI’s customer platform, a move designed to extend protection and long-term security to customers across Pakistan. The new microinsurance partnership aims to integrate simple, accessible insurance with everyday banking services to support broader financial inclusion.

Under the terms of the arrangement, EFU Life will provide the insurance products while ABHI Microfinance Bank acts as the distribution partner. EFU Life will remain responsible for underwriting, policy servicing and claims management, and ABHI will facilitate product distribution and customer onboarding through its branch and digital channels. The structure leverages each organisation’s strengths to offer seamless service to clients.

Implementation plans for the microinsurance partnership include staff training, customer awareness initiatives and clear service-delivery processes to ensure transparency and ease of access. Both organisations have emphasised adherence to regulatory requirements, robust data protection protocols and responsible sales practices to safeguard customer interests and maintain trust.

Customers will be able to choose from a range of life insurance offerings designed to help manage financial risks and plan for the future, with the partnership targeting households and individuals who previously had limited access to protection solutions. By combining banking access with tailored insurance options, the collaboration seeks to strengthen financial resilience for families throughout Pakistan.

The agreement was signed by Umer Rauf, Head of Transaction & Employee Banking at ABHI Microfinance Bank, and Muhammad Ali Ahmed, Chief Executive Officer at EFU Life Assurance Ltd, alongside senior representatives from both organisations. The partners will continue operational coordination to ensure effective rollout and ongoing service quality under the microinsurance partnership.
