McDonald’s Pakistan ITF Championship Kicks Off

The McDonald’s Pakistan ITF Championship 2026 (ITF M-15 Leg-2) began at the PTF Tennis Complex in Islamabad on 4 May 2026, bringing together 86 men’s players for an international week of competition and marking another significant stop on the Pakistan ITF calendar.

Players represent 22 countries including Pakistan, Kuwait, Russia, Uzbekistan, Sweden, Morocco, Malaysia, Great Britain, Italy, Lithuania, China, Turkey, Algeria, Canada, Ireland, Poland, Hong Kong, Greece, Lebanon, Germany, France and Japan, highlighting Islamabad’s growing role as a regional tennis hub.

Samir Hamza Reguig of Algeria, ranked ATP 844, enters the week as the top seed. Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, President of the Pakistan Tennis Federation, and Col. Zia-ud-din Tufail, Secretary General PTF, extended their best wishes to all participants and expressed gratitude to the event sponsors for supporting the tournament.

In men’s singles qualifying first round action, Sarmad Ali Khan (PAK) beat Grigory Maksimenko (RUS) 6-1, 6-1; Ahmad Nael Qureshi (PAK) defeated Ned Smith (GBR) 7-5, 6-4; Giovani Samaha (LBN) advanced over Adam Bajurko (POL) 6-4, 5-2 retired; Muhammad Abdullah (GBR) recorded a 6-0, 6-0 win over Muhammad Abdullah (PAK); Muhammad Huzaifa Khan (PAK) prevailed against Go Nakamichi (JPN) 6-4, 4-3 retired; Muhammad Hamza Aasim (PAK) won 6-0, 6-0 against Adnan Rasheed Khan (PAK); Barkat Khan (PAK) defeated Ali Zafar (PAK) 6-0, 6-1; and Mohammad Abid Ali Khan Akbar (PAK) beat Arsam Saleem (PAK) 6-0, 6-0.

Qualifying second round saw Makar Krivoshchekov (RUS) dispatch Sarmad Ali Khan (PAK) 6-0, 6-0; Ilyos Abrorov (UZB) beat Shawal Azeem (PAK) 6-0, 6-0; Abdulaziz Usmonjonov (UZB) defeated Ahmad Nael Qureshi (PAK) 6-4, 6-2; Zohaib Afzal Malik (PAK) overcame Fedor Dorokhov (RUS) 6-4, 6-3; Josh Roe Flannelly (IRL) won 6-3, 6-3 against Xiuyuan Guo (CHN); Ivan Iutkin (RUS) edged Giovani Samaha (LBN) 7-5, 7-6(2); Muhammad Talha Khan (PAK) beat Sameer Ahmad (PAK) 6-0, 6-2; Adam Farag-Cao (CAN) defeated Muhammad Abdullah (GBR) 6-0, 6-0; Shokrukh Toshpulatov (UZB) advanced past Muhammad Huzaifa Khan (PAK) 1-6, 6-1, 10-6; and Alexey Dubinin (RUS) beat Ahmar Saeed (PAK) 6-0, 6-0.

The third round of qualifying is currently underway at the PTF Tennis Complex, with the main draw scheduled to begin tomorrow at the same venue. Local fans and followers of the Pakistan ITF event can expect competitive matches as players vie for main-draw places and ranking points.
