Haider Ali Hits 4 Consecutive Sixes to Seal Sensational Win in BPL, Evokes Carlos Brathwaite’s Iconic Feat

Dhaka: Pakistani batter Haider Ali produced a breathtaking finish in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), smashing four consecutive sixes in a single over to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat for Chattogram Kings against Rangpur Riders — a moment reminiscent of Carlos Brathwaite’s heroics in the 2016 T20 World Cup final.

Chasing a modest 144-run target set by Rangpur Riders, Chattogram Kings were in trouble early on, having lost three key wickets within the first 10 overs. Haider Ali, alongside Hamdard Akif, began to stabilize the innings, but pressure mounted as 20 runs were still needed off the last 18 deliveries.

Then came the turning point — the 18th over, bowled by Akif Javed. Haider Ali launched a brutal assault, hitting four back-to-back sixes off the first four balls of the over, turning the match on its head and effectively sealing the win for his team with 14 balls to spare.

Haider finished unbeaten on 48 runs off just 18 balls, an explosive innings that featured six sixes and a four. His extraordinary performance powered Chattogram Kings to a commanding five-wicket victory and earned him the Player of the Match award.

Haider’s remarkable finish brought back memories of West Indies’ Carlos Brathwaite, who famously struck four consecutive sixes in the final over against England to win the 2016 T20 World Cup.
