Iran Launches Major Missile and Drone Barrage on Israel, Escalating Regional Conflict

In a dramatic escalation of hostilities, Iran initiated a fresh wave of long-range missile and drone attacks on Israel late Friday night, marking one of the most intense exchanges in the ongoing standoff between the two regional adversaries.

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that “another volley of dozens of missiles was launched towards the State of Israel.” Air raid sirens blared across the country as Israel’s Iron Dome defense system intercepted several incoming threats. Despite the defense efforts, explosions and fires were reported in multiple locations, including near the Defense Ministry in Tel Aviv.

Local media reported missile impacts at at least seven sites across central Israel, though the full extent of the damage has not been officially disclosed.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran claimed responsibility for the strikes, calling them a “crushing and precise response” targeting dozens of military facilities and airbases. According to Iranian state media, the assault was retaliation for recent Israeli airstrikes on Iranian nuclear infrastructure and the killing of senior Iranian military commanders.

Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei reportedly ordered the offensive, declaring, “The Zionist regime will not remain unscathed from the consequences of its crime. The Iranian nation must be guaranteed that our response will not be half-measured.”

Tensions have now reached a boiling point, with military mobilizations continuing on both sides and fears mounting over a broader Middle East war. World leaders and the United Nations are urgently calling for restraint to prevent a wider regional conflagration.
