Federal Board Enhances Exam System with Stakeholder Input

The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) intends to further enhance the efficiency and credibility of its examination system with the consultation of all stakeholders, announced Chairman FBISE, Prof. Dr Ikram Ali Malik. He further proposed the establishment of a reserve fund aimed at benefiting deserving students directly through examination reforms.
Speaking at a congratulatory event organized to welcome newly-elected members of the Board of Governors (BOG), Prof. Dr Malik emphasized the commitment to transparency and reliability. “We must collectively strive toward making our examination processes so transparent and reliable that we can boost the confidence stakeholders have in the board, including students, parents, and educational institutions,” he affirmed. Dr Malik also congratulated Prof. M. K. Mughal and Dr Rukhsana Khan on their election to key positions and expressed his desire to form committees comprising elected members specifically to implement educational reforms.
Dr Malik Abrar Hussain, while addressing the delegation comprising officials of APPSCA (All Pakistan Private Schools and Colleges Association), Private Schools Network (PSN), and their allied organizations, praised the unprecedented success achieved in the recent elections. He particularly expressed appreciation towards Chairman Malik and his team for the successful introduction and implementation of the transparent e-voting process, carried out for the first time in the Federal Board.
Highlighting the election victory, the Founder and Central President of the Private Schools Network Islamabad, Dr Muhammad Afzal Babar, commented that the overwhelming support from central, provincial, zonal, and general bodies has conclusively demonstrated their legitimate representational status for affiliated institutions. Dr Babar emphasized the urgent need for sincere, competent, and education-oriented leadership that can effectively address challenges and propose positive solutions for both private and public institutions.
Newly-elected BOG members Prof. M. K. Mughal and Dr Rukhsana Khan were warmly congratulated by Secretary FBISE Dr Muhammad Arshad and Controller of Examinations Ms Fatima Tahira, who expressed confidence in the abilities and expertise of the newly elected officials.
In the reception and congratulatory meeting held in honour of the newly-elected board members, several prominent officials and office bearers were in attendance. Among those present were Irfan Muzaffar Kiani, Divisional President Rawalpindi APPSCA; Ashraf Haraj, Central General Secretary APPSCA; Raja Javed Iqbal, Central Vice-President APPSCA; Muhammad Ibrahim, Divisional General Secretary APPSCA; Chaudhry Iftikhar, General Secretary Rawalpindi APPSCA; Sardar Figar, and various other significant representatives from the education sector.
