Punjab Cabinet Meeting on Infectious Disease Prevention

Provincial ministers held a cabinet committee meeting focused on infectious diseases, including dengue, and disaster management, reviewing current measures and emphasizing stronger inter-departmental collaboration and improved public awareness campaigns.

The meeting, co-chaired by Provincial Minister for Primary and Secondary Health Khawaja Imran Nazir and Provincial Minister for Specialized Healthcare and Emergency Services Khawaja Salman Rafique, thoroughly examined the current situation regarding infectious diseases, especially dengue fever, along with ongoing disaster management efforts.

During the session, the ministers analyzed multiple proposals aimed at enhancing preventive measures and underscored the importance of effective collaboration among various government departments. They directed all relevant authorities to strictly implement preventative protocols and surveillance measures to control the spread of infectious diseases.

Additionally, the ministers urged officials to strengthen and expand the public awareness campaign so that citizens could proactively contribute to disease prevention efforts. They emphasized that sustained community awareness is critical in effectively combating and minimizing the incidence of dengue and other communicable illnesses.

Secretary of Health and Population Nadia Saqib, as well as other senior officials, also attended the meeting and actively participated in discussions, contributing valuable insights and recommendations.
