**Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists Marks 75 Years with Platinum Jubilee Celebration**

The Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ), the country’s largest association of journalists, is marking its 75th anniversary with a platinum jubilee ceremony. The celebration will be held at Khaliq Dina Hall, Karachi, and will bring together journalists from across Pakistan to honor the union’s long-standing contributions to press freedom and the rights of media professionals.

Founded on August 2, 1950, PFUJ emerged as a result of joint efforts by journalists from the Sindh Union of Journalists and the Punjab Union of Journalists. Notably, the Sindh Union had already been established in 1948, laying an early foundation for organized journalism in the country. The inaugural meeting of PFUJ was held at the historic Khaliq Dina Hall, a venue that continues to hold symbolic significance for the organization.

In preparation for the platinum jubilee event, PFUJ Secretary General Arshad Ansari, along with former Secretaries General Mazhar Abbas and Khurshid Abbasi, visited Khaliq Dina Hall to review arrangements. The gathering is expected to attract prominent journalists and media professionals, reflecting the unity and resilience of the press community.

In addition to the main ceremony, the Federal Executive Council of PFUJ is convening its meeting at the Karachi Press Club from August 1 to 3. This meeting will focus on current challenges facing journalists and the future direction of the union.

The platinum jubilee not only commemorates the union’s history and achievements but also reinforces its ongoing commitment to defending journalistic freedoms and professional rights in Pakistan.
