Pak-EPA Conducts Vehicular Emissions Monitoring in Islamabad

The Pakistan Environmental Protection Agency (Pak-EPA) has conducted a roadside emissions monitoring operation at T-Chowk on Islamabad Expressway, aiming to reduce vehicular air and noise pollution and promote public health. The initiative was led by the agency’s Environmental Monitoring Team, who checked vehicles for compliance with national standards on exhaust emissions and noise levels.
During the activity, specific attention was given to measuring carbon monoxide emissions, smoke opacity, and noise produced by passing vehicles. By assessing these indicators, Pak-EPA seeks to ensure that vehicles meet the National Environmental Quality Standards, helping to address growing concerns over air quality in the capital.
The agency emphasized the importance of regular vehicle maintenance, urging motorists to play their part in environmental protection. Pak-EPA announced plans to continue these roadside monitoring sessions throughout Islamabad to reinforce regulations and work towards cleaner air for all residents.
