CPSP Engages National Assembly on Medical Education

A delegation from the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP), led by President Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal, met Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Speaker of the National Assembly, to highlight the college’s national and international contributions to medical education. Senior Vice President Prof. Muhammad Shoaib Shafi, DGNRP Prof. Mahmood Ayyaz, DGME Prof. Aamer Zaman Khan, and Director International Relations Maj Gen Prof. Mazher Ishaq accompanied the President.

During the meeting, the CPSP delegation briefed the Speaker on outcomes from the Post International Medical Education Conference 2026, including encouraging feedback from presidents of Royal Colleges around the world who participated in IMECon 2026. The briefing underlined CPSP’s role in advancing postgraduate medical standards and fostering international collaboration in medical training.

Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq expressed appreciation for CPSP’s efforts and contributions to medical education in Pakistan. As a gesture of institutional transparency and heritage, the delegation presented a history book and the annual performance report of CPSP to the Speaker, outlining recent milestones and activities.

The meeting reinforced CPSP’s ongoing engagement with national stakeholders and highlighted the institution’s commitment to strengthening medical education standards through dialogue, international feedback, and documented performance reporting. Continued interaction with parliamentary leadership aims to keep medical education priorities visible within national policy discussions.
