Pakistani Students Turn Out in Large Numbers for Malaysia Education Fair in Islamabad
ISLAMABAD, September 15, 2026: Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) hosted the Study in Malaysia Education Fair 2026 in Islamabad on September 15 and 16, drawing hundreds of students, parents, education professionals and representatives of academic institutions.
The fair offered Pakistani students a direct platform to meet representatives of leading Malaysian universities and seek guidance on undergraduate, postgraduate and professional study programmes.
Participating Malaysian institutions shared details about internationally recognised degree programmes, scholarships, admission requirements, student visas, campus facilities, accommodation and student life in Malaysia. University representatives also held one-on-one counselling sessions with students and parents to explain the process of pursuing higher education in Malaysia.
The event was inaugurated by the High Commissioner of Malaysia to Pakistan, H.E. Dato Muhammad Azhar Mazlan. Speaking on the occasion, he highlighted the longstanding and friendly relations between Malaysia and Pakistan and underlined the importance of education in further strengthening bilateral ties.
The High Commissioner expressed confidence that initiatives such as the Study in Malaysia Education Fair would support wider cooperation between the two countries in education, research, innovation and people-to-people exchanges.
Throughout the event, students showed strong interest in Malaysian higher education opportunities. Many held detailed discussions with university representatives about admissions, scholarships and future career pathways. A number of students also proceeded with their admission processes during the fair.
EMGS representatives said Pakistan remains an important and growing market for Malaysian higher education, with increasing numbers of Pakistani students considering Malaysia for quality international education, particularly in undergraduate, postgraduate and professional programmes.
They noted that Malaysia provides international students with a multicultural and welcoming environment, internationally oriented academic programmes and opportunities to build skills relevant to the global job market.
The Study in Malaysia Education Fair 2026 is part of EMGS’s broader international outreach programme to promote Malaysia as a preferred destination for international students and to strengthen engagement with key education markets.
The Islamabad edition followed the fair’s outreach in Karachi and is part of a three-city programme aimed at connecting Malaysian universities with students and families across Pakistan. After Islamabad, the national education outreach will continue in Lahore on September 19 and 20, marking the final city of the fair’s Pakistan programme.
The Islamabad event concluded on a positive note, with students, parents and education professionals welcoming the opportunity to receive direct information from Malaysian universities and explore higher education pathways abroad.
The continued engagement between EMGS, Malaysian universities and Pakistani students reflects the growing potential for stronger Malaysia-Pakistan educational cooperation and deeper people-to-people links between the two countries.
