Rising Pakistan Forum Calls for Governance Reforms on Quaid’s Death Anniversary
ISLAMABAD: Rising Pakistan Forum has said that the nation, which began its journey after the Pakistan Movement under the leadership of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, is still in search of a system that can meet the country’s needs and requires meaningful reforms.
In a message issued after a meeting held on September 11, the death anniversary of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the forum’s leadership said Pakistan was facing serious challenges at the political, economic and social levels. It said the situation demanded that political and social leaders, public figures and institutions work together with the same commitment shown by the leaders of the Pakistan Movement in their struggle for the creation of the country.
The forum observed that the absence of good governance had brought the country close to a crisis of leadership. It said the death anniversary of Quaid-i-Azam was not only an occasion to pay tribute to the leaders of the Pakistan Movement, but also a time to learn from Jinnah’s leadership qualities and his spirit of tireless work.
Those who attended the meeting included Rising Pakistan President Rakhshanda Tasneem, Senior Vice President Dr Ghulam Ali, Information Secretary Mubashir Ahmed, Additional Secretary Saima Bhatti, Peace Council Pakistan Chairman Khalid Bhatti, and political and social leaders Sardar Imran Yaseen and Chaudhry Javed Iqbal from Rawalpindi.
The participants reviewed different aspects of the challenges confronting Pakistan in the light of national and international conditions. They also exchanged views and presented various proposals related to good governance for strengthening the country’s system.
