Youth Climate Justice Ambassadors Launch Tree Drive
Students and teachers at Islamabad Model School for Girls took part in a spirited tree planting campaign organized under the Youth Climate Justice Ambassadors Academy, with pupils actively involved in planting saplings and learning about environmental protection and the effects of climate change. The activity aimed to instill appreciation for green spaces and practical steps for climate mitigation among young participants.
Farzana Kausar, the focal person for the Chairman’s Youth and Women Development Programme, attended the event and urged greater youth engagement in environment-friendly activities. She emphasized that involving students in grassroots initiatives is essential to lay the foundation for a healthier, greener Pakistan and to build climate-conscious communities.
Brigadier Muhammad Aslam Khan, president of RDF, also participated by planting saplings and reaffirming the organisation’s commitment to mobilising young people for environmental causes. He highlighted the importance of continued collaboration between civil society groups and schools to sustain tree planting and conservation efforts.
Organisers and participants concluded the event by pledging to extend the campaign to other educational institutions and to plant additional trees in the coming months. The initiative received warm appreciation from students, teachers and the local community, reinforcing the role of youth-led action in advancing climate awareness and urban greening.
