Interfaith Harmony Strengthened as ZFA Pakistan Hosts Inclusive Program in Islamabad

Zakat Foundation of America Pakistan, in collaboration with the National Press Club Islamabad, participated in a dignified honorary program that celebrated interfaith harmony, national unity, and respect for cultural diversity. The minister for communication and broadcasting and other presenters recognized the valuable contributions of the Christian journalist community to Pakistan’s media landscape and their role in promoting responsible journalism and social cohesion.

The event was attended by over 120 members of the National Press Club, including journalists along with their families and children, making it a truly inclusive and community-centered engagement. Distinguished guests included Mr. Attaullah Tarar, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting; Dr. Fazal ur Rehman, Country Representative Zakat Foundation of America; Ms. Shazia Rizwan, Member Punjab Assembly and Coordinator to the Chief Minister of Punjab; Jawad Tariq, DIG Operations; Naveed Anwar, President Chicago Chamber of Commerce; Afzal Butt, President PFUJ; and Sardar Tahir Mahmood, President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce. Their presence reinforced a shared message of dialogue, inclusion, and mutual respect.

An honorary dinner was hosted by ZFA Pakistan for participants, followed by the distribution of gifts and cash support among journalists, their families, and children as a gesture of appreciation and solidarity. Afzal Butt, President PFUJ, appreciated the role of Zakat Foundation of America in promoting interfaith understanding and social welfare, reflecting the journalistic community’s recognition of initiatives that strengthen unity and compassion.

This engagement reaffirmed the belief that diversity is Pakistan’s strength, and that bringing families, communities, and institutions together through respect and understanding is essential for a peaceful, inclusive, and progressive society.
