Federal Minister Reviews Progress of Pakistan Digital ID

Federal Minister for IT & Telecom, Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja, visited NADRA headquarters to review advancements in Pakistan’s Digital ID ecosystem under the Digital Economy Enhancement Project (DEEP). During her visit, Khawaja underscored the importance of a robust and citizen-centric Digital ID system for achieving the Digital Pakistan vision and the objectives outlined in the “Uraan Pakistan” roadmap.
Minister Khawaja highlighted the critical function of a reliable Digital ID framework, noting that it serves as a foundational pillar supporting Pakistan’s efforts to build an innovative digital economy. She further emphasized that a secure and citizen-friendly digital identity infrastructure is imperative to fostering growth, transparency, and greater accessibility to digital services for all Pakistanis.
In response, the Chairman of NADRA expressed firm commitment toward enhancing and maintaining Pakistan’s Digital ID ecosystem. He confirmed that NADRA remains focused on implementing globally recognized best practices and aligning them with national priorities to ensure the sustainability, security, and scalability of the Digital ID framework.
This visit underscores the collaborative efforts between the Ministry of IT and Telecom and NADRA to accelerate digital transformation initiatives across the country, setting the stage for a more connected and inclusive Pakistan.
