Kazakhstan and Pakistan Confirm Participation in Religious Leaders Congress

Kazakhstan and Pakistan have confirmed increased cooperation in interfaith dialogue and education, with a Pakistani delegation officially confirmed to participate in the upcoming VIII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in Astana. The Pakistani delegation will be headed by Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, H.E. Mr. Sardar Muhammad Yousaf.
In a meeting held in Islamabad, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Pakistan, H.E. Mr. Yerzhan Kistafin met with Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq, Director General of the Islamic Research Institute and a member of the Secretariat of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions. Discussions primarily focused on preparing for the upcoming international event which aims to foster global interreligious dialogue and harmony.
Both sides also identified opportunities for enhancing academic and educational collaboration between universities and research institutions of Kazakhstan and Pakistan. Consensus was reached to initiate and undertake several joint projects by the end of this year.
The VIII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions is a major event scheduled to take place in Astana, Kazakhstan, with the presence and participation of leading figures from diverse religious communities worldwide. The confirmed attendance and participation of a high-level Pakistani delegation signify the strong bilateral relationship and shared objectives between Kazakhstan and Pakistan in promoting interfaith understanding and cooperation.
