Rawalpindi police successfully thwarted a major bank robbery attempt in the New Town area, recovering millions of rupees by swiftly responding to an emergency call. One suspect has been apprehended, while a search is underway for the remaining robbers who managed to escape from the scene.
Upon receiving an emergency call via helpline ’15’, a large contingent of Rawalpindi police immediately arrived at the location, rapidly taking control of the situation. According to initial investigations, three armed robbers stormed into the bank with weapons, intending to steal millions of rupees. The quick response from law enforcement units foiled their efforts and disrupted the attempted robbery.
During the operation, one suspect was successfully detained, while two other accomplices managed to escape upon seeing the police. Authorities have launched an extensive search operation and pursuit of these fleeing robbers is currently ongoing.
City Police Officer (CPO) praised the timely response and alertedness demonstrated by the police. He reaffirmed Rawalpindi Police’s commitment to remaining vigilant, proactive, and prepared at all times, ensuring the safety and security of citizens and their property.
