Rawalpindi Schools Meeting Reports New Education Orders

Government education officials met with school heads in Rawalpindi to review recent field findings and implement new provincial measures aimed at raising academic standards, improving school facilities, boosting student enrollment, and ensuring student welfare. The meeting also reinforced dengue control efforts and included a specialist session on mental health and stress management.
The session was chaired by Tariq Mahmood, Chief Executive Officer of the Rawalpindi District Education Authority, and brought together heads of government schools from Rawalpindi and Tehsil Taxila at Government Muslim Higher Secondary School No. 1, Rawalpindi. Officials outlined new initiatives introduced by the Punjab government to strengthen the education sector and ensure broader student participation.
Participants were briefed on key findings from a recent School Education Department field visit across district schools. Based on that report, the CEO directed all school heads to immediately address identified deficiencies and to conduct regular self-assessments of complaints arising in the field to ensure prompt corrective action.
School leaders were ordered to keep the Student Information System (SIS) data up to date. To support a successful enrollment drive, all schools were required to identify out-of-school children, compile their data, and take immediate steps to enroll them.
The CEO commended the department’s role in dengue control and urged continued cooperation and maximum effort from schools to sustain and advance dengue-eradication activities.
Dr. Syed Usman Hamdani, a member of the National Task Force on Mental Health, attended the meeting and delivered a presentation on mental health and stress management, advising school leaders on strategies to support students’ and staff wellbeing.
