Tuberculosis Epidemiological Review Mission 2025 Collaboration Highlights

A coordination meeting aimed at preparing for the Tuberculosis Epidemiological Review Mission 2025 was recently held at the Islamabad Healthcare Regulatory Authority (IHRA) office, bringing together key representatives from the Common Management Unit (CMU) and the World Health Organization (WHO). The meeting focused on bolstering efforts to control and prevent the spread of tuberculosis within the community.
Chaired by Dr. Ahmed Raza Kazmi, CEO of IHRA, and attended by Dr. Suleman Ahmad, Head of Clinical Governance at IHRA, the session emphasized the urgent need for increased awareness, education, and information-sharing among healthcare providers. Participants stressed that timely identification and proper management of tuberculosis cases are critical to effective disease control.
The meeting concluded with an agreement on the importance of implementing national standards and licensing of healthcare establishments in line with official guidelines. These measures are considered essential for robust disease surveillance and curbing the transmission of tuberculosis in Islamabad.
IHRA reaffirmed its commitment to improving the quality, safety, and accessibility of healthcare services through collaborative initiatives, evidence-based approaches, and active engagement with stakeholders.
