**Rawalpindi Development Authority Moves to Address Gulraiz Housing Scheme Issues**
The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has taken decisive steps to address longstanding issues in the Gulraiz Housing Scheme, with a particular focus on resolving water supply challenges and property encroachments. The measures follow directives from Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, who has called for immediate solutions to urban management problems across the city.
During a recent meeting held at the RDA conference room, Additional Director General Mansoor Ahmad Khan, acting on instructions from RDA Director General Kinza Murtaza, emphasized the urgency of tackling the water crisis affecting residents of Gulraiz Housing Scheme. He directed the Managing Director of WASA to install tubewells in the area as a sustainable response to the ongoing water shortage. To encourage innovative and long-term water management in urban neighborhoods, he also called for a feasibility assessment of rainwater harvesting systems.
Addressing other pressing concerns, Mansoor Ahmad Khan instructed relevant authorities to remove property encroachments in the Gulraiz area. He underlined that upholding legal property rights and ensuring proper land use are essential for building a livable and well-regulated urban environment. He assured attendees that infrastructure and ownership challenges would be resolved promptly and urged housing scheme representatives to foster mutual cooperation for effective problem-solving.
Reiterating RDA’s commitment, the Additional Director General stressed the importance of improving urban infrastructure, enforcing planning regulations, and ensuring all housing schemes provide essential amenities to residents.
The meeting was attended by senior officials, including MD WASA Muhammad Saleem Ashraf, Chief Planner RDA Muhammad Tahir Meo, Director Land Ghazanfar Ali Awan, other RDA officers, and representatives of the Gulraiz Housing Scheme.
