Improving Health Facilities in Pakistan’s Flood-Affected Areas

The refurbishment of 432 health facilities in Pakistan’s flood-affected regions, supported by the World Health Organization (WHO), has improved healthcare access and outcomes for an estimated 10 million people.
In an effort to rebuild and strengthen Pakistan’s healthcare infrastructure, the WHO collaborated with local authorities to restore health centers devastated by widespread flooding. The initiative aimed to address urgent medical needs and promote long-term resilience against future public health emergencies.
According to officials, the upgraded facilities are now better equipped to provide essential medical services, helping to reduce the risk of disease outbreaks and improve overall community health. The project is part of broader efforts to ensure access to quality healthcare for all, particularly in vulnerable and disaster-affected communities.
The success of this refurbishment underscores the importance of coordinated international support in responding to humanitarian crises and achieving the goal of “Health for All.”
