**Health Minister Reviews Progress on Digitalization of Medical Device Licensing at DRAP**
Federal Minister for Health, Mustafa Kamal, chaired a high-level meeting to assess the ongoing digitalization efforts of medical device licensing at the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP). The session focused on recent digitalization initiatives, industry feedback, and the challenges faced in streamlining regulatory processes.
During the meeting, Minister Kamal emphasized the need to complete the licensing process for medical devices within 20 days to improve efficiency and transparency. He asserted that the public must be familiarized with the new digital system so they can fully benefit from the enhanced services. Kamal reiterated the government’s commitment to fulfilling promises made to the public by ensuring timely and effective implementation of reforms.
Highlighting the need to minimize human involvement, the Health Minister stressed that merit and transparency should be maintained throughout DRAP’s operations. He called for all measures to be taken to boost transparency, speed up processing, and restore public trust in the regulatory system.
Minister Kamal also underlined the importance of educating the public about basic information related to the new procedures. He urged DRAP to strengthen its human resources and technical support to smoothly implement the digitalization project. The Minister concluded by instructing officials to utilize all available resources to ensure the success of the initiative.
