Pakistan Hindu Council Dedicates Independence Day to Battle for Truth

The Pakistan Hindu Council has announced it will dedicate this year’s 78th Independence Day celebrations to the “Battle for Truth” (Ma’araka-e-Haq) and honor the sacrifices made by the country’s armed forces and security personnel. The Council pledged to mark the day with full patriotic fervor across the nation, highlighting the unity and contributions of minority communities to Pakistan’s progress and defense.

Dr. Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, Patron-in-Chief of the Council and Member of the National Assembly, made the announcement after a meeting at the Council Secretariat. He emphasized that patriotic minority citizens hold deep respect for the armed forces who have safeguarded Pakistan’s sovereignty over the years. Dr. Vankwani noted that Independence Day is not only a commemoration of the creation of Pakistan but also a reminder that the protection of freedom is a shared national responsibility.

He praised the vital role played by Pakistan’s armed forces and security institutions, stating that their vigilance at the borders allows citizens to live in peace. Dr. Vankwani underscored that the fluttering green crescent flag symbolizes both independence and the nation’s collective resolve and defense capabilities. By dedicating this year’s Independence Day to the “Battle for Truth,” the Council aims to recognize the armed forces as the true guardians of Pakistan’s freedom who have uplifted the country’s standing in the international community.

Dr. Vankwani added that the duty to protect freedom is a continuous struggle requiring trust and sacrifice. As part of the Independence Day celebrations, temples, dharamshalas, and other sacred places across the country will be adorned with national flags and vibrant lights. On Independence Day, the national flag will be hoisted at every temple under the banner of the Pakistan Hindu Council, accompanied by special prayers for the country’s peace, progress, and prosperity.

The central Independence Day ceremony organized by the Council will take place in Karachi. Additional events will be held nationwide to honor the contributions of the Pakistan Army, Rangers, Air Force, Navy, Police, Intelligence, and other security agencies. Dr. Vankwani urged all patriotic minority citizens to remember the families of martyrs, war veterans, and defenders of the nation with respect, and to actively work towards the unity, defense, and harmony of Pakistan.
