Police Internship Empowers Rawalpindi Youth with Practical Skills

The 32nd batch of the “Friends of Police” internship program concluded at the Rawalpindi Police Lines Headquarters, offering students from various academic institutions practical insight into police operations and community policing initiatives under the vision of Inspector General Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar.

During the two-week internship, senior police officers delivered lectures covering multiple aspects of police work, including station operations, police service centers, front desk management, legal proceedings, judicial protocols, and the use of various police apps. The program aimed to equip participants with a comprehensive understanding of how modern policing is conducted.

Students were given tours of specialized police stations, the main headquarters, the command and control room, the traffic police headquarters, and the Liaquat Bagh Police Service Center. These visits allowed the interns to observe different branches at work and understand the practical challenges and processes involved in law enforcement.

The internship also emphasized the importance of involving youth in police awareness campaigns, recognizing that the younger generation can play a vital role in improving police work and service delivery. The program aimed to train students as active contributors towards effective policing, crime prevention, drug control, traffic management, and the resolution of other social issues through community policing.

At the closing ceremony, DSP CRO Nadeem Malik distributed certificates among the participants, acknowledging their engagement and successful completion of the program.
