Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan Cooperation at UN Conference

Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has arrived in Turkmenistan to participate in the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, reinforcing the strengthening ties between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan. Upon arrival, President Tokayev engaged in a brief conversation at the airport with Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan.
President Tokayev highlighted the positive momentum in bilateral cooperation, expressing his satisfaction at being in Turkmenistan and acknowledging the invitation. He praised Turkmenistan’s high international standing, emphasizing the significance of hosting an important forum attended by the UN Secretary-General. Tokayev reiterated Kazakhstan’s support for Turkmenistan’s three-decade-long policy of positive neutrality.
Both leaders emphasized the special relationship between their nations, noting the importance that their peoples attach to further strengthening friendship and good-neighborly relations.
