Driving Medical Outsourcing for Better Healthcare
A detailed briefing was presented to Federal Health Minister Syed Mustafa Kamal on the outsourcing of medical services, attended by the Secretary Health, the Additional Secretary and the Joint Secretary (Hospitals) alongside senior experts and consultants. Consultants outlined several medical outsourcing models designed to modernize service delivery while ensuring operational transparency and efficiency.
The minister directed that all efforts must prioritize quality care that is affordable and easily accessible to the public. He emphasized that any outsourcing approach should reduce costs for patients, maintain accountability, and meet contemporary healthcare standards, stressing that outcomes for citizens must remain central.
Medical outsourcing through structured public private partnerships was highlighted as a pathway to strengthen the health system on durable foundations. The ministry will review the proposed models and move forward with consultations to align outsourcing plans with regulatory safeguards and the objective of delivering consistent, cost-effective services across public hospitals.
