Islamabad Launches Joint Poverty Alleviation Projects for Development

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) have agreed to launch joint initiatives aimed at improving underdeveloped areas in Islamabad, enhancing skills, increasing employment opportunities, and promoting community engagement.
During a meeting at CDA headquarters, CDA Chairman and Islamabad Chief Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa met with PPAF Chief Executive Officer Nadir Gul Bareech. Senior CDA officials, including Member Administration and Estate Talat Mehmood, Member Finance Tahir Naeem, Member Planning Dr. Khalid Hafeez, and Member Environment Asfandyar Baloch, were also in attendance.
The discussions focused on collaborative projects geared towards sustainable urban development and social welfare. Muhammad Ali Randhawa emphasized that the prosperity of Islamabad is closely linked to sustainable civic growth and social well-being. He reiterated the CDA’s commitment to improving the lives of citizens and expressed readiness to cooperate with all relevant institutions to achieve this goal.
Nadir Gul Bareech praised CDA’s ongoing efforts under Randhawa’s leadership to drive progress and prosperity in Islamabad. He assured that PPAF would fully support CDA’s mission and emphasized the importance of joint measures to tackle poverty in the city.
Both organizations agreed to strengthen coordination and take practical steps to alleviate poverty, with a shared commitment to uplifting marginalised communities and supporting their economic stability. The partnership aims to make Islamabad a more prosperous and thriving city for all its residents.
