Pakistan Turkey Defense Meeting Strengthens Cooperation

Turkish Defense Minister Yasar Guler met with Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif in Islamabad to reaffirm strong bilateral defence ties and discuss ways to deepen cooperation. Both ministers described the relationship in warm terms and emphasized expanding defence-industrial links, joint training and regular military exercises.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed a range of issues of mutual interest with particular focus on defence cooperation. Officials stressed the importance of enhanced defence-industrial collaboration, increased joint training programs, and the institutionalization of regular combined military exercises to improve interoperability.

Minister Guler praised the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and lauded their contribution to maintaining regional peace and stability. He highlighted Turkey’s appreciation for Pakistan’s role in security efforts across the region.

Minister Asif expressed satisfaction with Turkey’s ongoing support for Pakistan and reaffirmed the two countries’ cooperation across security, counterterrorism and regional partnership initiatives. He underlined the shared commitment to strengthening practical ties between the two militaries.

Both ministers agreed to keep working on concrete measures to broaden defence collaboration and sustain close military-to-military engagement, reflecting long-standing strategic ties between the two countries.
