Tree Planting as a National Duty for a Greener Pakistan

Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has called on the public and the government to treat tree plantation as a national duty, emphasizing the critical role of forests in combating climate change and ensuring a clean environment for future generations.

In a message on the occasion of Tree Plantation Day, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq highlighted the adverse effects of deforestation, noting that increased loss of forests is leading to more severe rainfall, flooding, and air pollution. He stressed the urgent need for coordinated efforts to address climate change and urged all stakeholders to take immediate action.

The Speaker underlined the importance of forests in absorbing water, thereby preventing flash floods, and maintained that trees are vital for maintaining environmental balance and enhancing the beauty of the planet. He further pointed out that forests serve as a natural defense against disasters such as floods, landslides, and droughts.

Calling for tree plantation to become a sustained national movement, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq appealed for a joint commitment from both citizens and the government to make Pakistan greener and healthier. He suggested launching large-scale tree plantation campaigns in schools and cities across the country.

He also emphasized that planting saplings alone is not enough; proper care and maintenance of trees are necessary to ensure their survival and long-term benefits. The Speaker concluded by urging every individual to actively participate in tree plantation efforts for sustainable development.
