Showcasing Pakistan wildlife to curb biodiversity loss
Biodiversity remains one of our strongest defenses against climate change, yet in Pakistan and beyond it is increasingly under threat. The new exhibition Where the wild breathes by Satrang Gallery captures both the beauty of Pakistan wildlife and the worrying signs of its decline, using art to spark conversation about conservation and climate resilience.
The show was opened by United Nations Information Centre Director Catherine Weibel alongside artists Kamran Qureshi and Dr Ahsan Qureshi, joined by Satrang Director Asma Rashid Khan and curator Zahra Jadun. The opening highlighted the role of creative practice in documenting species, habitats and the impacts that threaten Pakistan wildlife today.
The exhibition is on display at the Islamabad Serena Hotel and remains open until mid January. By presenting vivid portrayals of local fauna and their changing environments, the show aims to raise awareness among Islamabad audiences and encourage greater public engagement with biodiversity conservation in Pakistan.
