Lahore Police T20 Tournament 2025 Opening Day Highlights

The Lahore Police Inter-District T20 Cricket Tournament opened with an inaugural ceremony at the Punjab University campus, featuring seven teams from different Lahore Police units and an opening victory by the Anti-Riot Force. Senior officials highlighted the event’s role in promoting fitness, discipline and morale among police personnel, and several more matches are scheduled as the competition progresses.

The Captain Ahmad Mubeen and Zahid Akram Gondal Shaheed Lahore Police Inter-District T20 Cricket Tournament began with DIG (Admin) Imran Kishwar as the chief guest at the opening ceremony held on the Punjab University campus. The event brought together police personnel and spectators to celebrate the start of the inter-district competition.

Seven teams representing Lahore Police sub-divisions are competing: the Elite Force, Anti-Riot Force, City Traffic Police, Investigation Wing, Dolphin Force, Operations Wing and a CCPO XI. In the opening match, the Anti-Riot Force defeated the Elite Force by 21 runs in a closely contested game. Additional fixtures scheduled include City Traffic Police versus Elite Force and Investigation Wing against Dolphin Force.

Speaking at the event, Capital City Police Officer Bilal Siddique Kamyana underlined the broader benefits of sporting events for the force. He said that encouraging participation in sports helps promote physical fitness while instilling discipline and camaraderie, and that such initiatives boost morale and support healthy, active lifestyles among officers.

DIG (Admin) Imran Kishwar echoed those sentiments, noting that sports teach discipline, teamwork, courage and tolerance—qualities that are vital in police work. He reaffirmed the department’s commitment to promoting positive activities and well-being among personnel and indicated that similar initiatives will be organized in the future.

The tournament aims to combine competitive spirit with team-building and community engagement, providing an opportunity for personnel from different units to interact and showcase their skills on the field. Further match results and developments are expected as the competition continues.
