Expanding GSMA cooperation for Pakistan’s Digital Future

At the Mobile World Congress 2025 opening ceremony in Doha, Federal Minister for IT Shaza Fatima Khawaja held a bilateral meeting with GSMA CEO John Hoffman and senior GSMA leadership to discuss the evolving global mobile industry and the road to a digital future.

During the conversation the delegation explored trends shaping the sector, with particular emphasis on digital services, nationwide connectivity and emerging tech innovation. The talks highlighted the importance of international collaboration to accelerate mobile adoption and service delivery across Pakistan.

Both sides agreed to pursue expanded GSMA cooperation to identify practical areas for partnership and support. Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja briefed GSMA leaders on Pakistan’s digital vision and recent reform measures, underlining the government’s priorities for inclusive connectivity and digital transformation.

Participants said follow-up work will focus on mapping opportunities that align GSMA expertise with Pakistan’s reforms, aiming to strengthen infrastructure, promote digital services and foster innovation that benefits businesses and citizens alike.
