Major Adnan Aslam Funeral and Nation’s Tribute

Major Adnan Aslam, a 31-year-old officer from Rawalpindi, was honored at a funeral prayer in Chaklala after succumbing to wounds sustained in an attack in Bannu. Senior civilian and military leaders attended the service, paid tribute to his bravery, and reiterated a commitment to continue operations against militants.

According to military officials, Major Adnan was critically wounded during a militant attack in Bannu that the military described as being carried out by elements allegedly operating on an external agenda. He was evacuated to the Combined Military Hospital for treatment but died of his injuries.

The funeral prayer in Chaklala drew Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the defence and information ministers, Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir, and other senior military and civilian officials, along with members of the martyr’s family. Major Adnan, a resident of Rawalpindi, will be laid to rest in his native area with full military honours.

Officials praised Major Adnan’s leadership and courage, saying he led his team from the front and played a key role in thwarting the attackers’ plans. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the officer’s sacrifice, calling him a fearless son of the nation whose courage and devotion will remain in the public memory.

Military statements following the funeral emphasized that Major Adnan’s death reinforces the armed forces’ determination to eradicate terrorism. The funeral proceedings reflected broad official recognition of his service and the continuing resolve to protect the country.
