Acting President Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani held separate meetings at Aiwan-e-Sadr with Senator Gurdeep Singh, Senator Asad Qasim, Senator Sardar Muhammad Umer Gorgaij, Senator Falak Naz Chitrali and former MNA Maiza Hameed to discuss national priorities and joint action.
Mr Gilani stressed the importance of unity and dialogue among political leaders to confront the country’s challenges, emphasising that inclusive development must remain central to policy making to secure long-term political and economic stability.
He called for strengthening democratic institutions as a foundation for inclusive development, noting that robust institutions and cross-party cooperation are essential for sustainable progress and public confidence.
Expressing deep concern about the ongoing flood situation affecting various regions, Mr Gilani urged coordinated efforts between federal and provincial authorities to ensure timely relief and rehabilitation for impacted communities and to prioritise measures that support recovery and resilience.
