Turkish Speaker Visits Faisal Mosque Islamabad

Numan Kurtulmus, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, visited Islamabad’s historic Faisal Mosque while in the city to attend a tripartite speakers meeting. The visit brought the Turkish parliamentary delegation to one of Pakistan’s most recognisable religious landmarks.

The distinguished guest performed the Maghrib prayer inside the mosque and offered special prayers for the development, prosperity and stability of both Pakistan and Turkey as well as for the unity of the Muslim Ummah. The focus on shared hopes for progress and harmony was evident during the brief ceremony.

During his tour of the complex, Speaker Numan Kurtulmus inspected various sections of the mosque and observed Islamic artefacts on display. He also planted a sapling on the mosque’s green lawn as a gesture symbolising growth and enduring friendship. Turkey’s ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Irfan Nazir Oglu, accompanied the speaker during the visit.

The visit to Faisal Mosque by the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey was described by observers as a reflection of deep, historical and brotherly ties between the two countries, reinforcing parliamentary and cultural bonds at a time of continued diplomatic engagement.
