Lahore Polo Club Drives Polo in Pink 2025
The Lahore Polo Club kicked off its 2025 season on Monday, October 20, with the Lahore Smart City Polo in Pink Cup, a week-long event that combines top-level polo competition with breast cancer awareness initiatives.
The tournament was unveiled at a press conference attended by Malik Azam Hayat Noon, President of Lahore Polo Club, Omer Aftab of Pink Ribbon Pakistan, Imran Zahid, CEO of Lahore Smart City, Zeeshan Qureshi from HRL, Farrukh Qureshi, Director Marketing at Capital Smart Motors, executive committee members Raja Amir Khan and Ahmed Nawaz Tiwana, Club Secretary Maj (R) Amjad, and the sixteen female players representing teams from Pakistan and abroad.
Malik Azam Hayat Noon described the event as both a celebration of polo and a vital platform for raising breast cancer awareness, organised in collaboration with Pink Ribbon Pakistan. He noted that the Polo in Pink Cup will feature sixteen teams divided into two groups and that each team includes one female player, highlighting international participation from Pakistan, Lebanon, England, the United States and Mexico.
Pool A will see Zacky Farms fielding Pakistan’s Sofia Deana Ali Khan, Rijas/Din featuring USA’s Elizay Girty, SQ Seagold with Lebanon’s Nada Gharib, Guard Group backing Pakistan’s Daria Daula Ali Khan, Chakor Ventures with England’s Sarah Grover, Black Horse Paints bringing England’s Olivia Lamphee and Samba Bank entering Holland’s Mendoza Houben.
Pool B includes Nurpur Bandobast with England’s Kristina Nikolay Karailieva, The Townhouse with Mexico’s Paula Garibay, Lahore Smart City represented by Pakistan’s Zara Shah, AOS with Pakistan’s Fatima Mazhar, Platinum Homes fielding England’s Jade Wheeler, Diamond Paints with Pakistan’s Rabeel Hussain, Master Paints featuring Mexico’s Emilia Garibay and Haroon Sharif Jewellers with Pakistan’s Mahnum Faisal.
Three matches were scheduled for the opening day, with four matches set to follow each subsequent day as teams compete for a place in the grand final on Sunday. Imran Zahid reiterated Lahore Smart City’s ongoing support for sports and social causes, while Farrukh Qureshi linked the tournament’s elegance to Capital Smart Motors’ premium offerings and Zeeshan Qureshi said Lahore’s passionate spectators can expect high-calibre polo and vibrant competition.
With international talent on display and a clear focus on women’s health, the Polo in Pink Cup 2025 promises a compelling mix of sport and social awareness that underscores the Lahore Polo Club’s commitment to both the game and community outreach.
