Boosting Pakistan Canada Trade Ties

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister received a telephone call on the evening of October 31, 2025 from Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand to discuss measures to strengthen bilateral trade and investment between the two countries.

The conversation focused on expanding cooperation in agriculture and the mines and minerals sectors, with particular attention to facilitating market access for Canadian canola exports to Pakistan. Canada’s minister expressed gratitude for the recent steps taken to open the canola market, underscoring its significance for bilateral agricultural trade.

Both leaders explored collaboration under the Foreign Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement (FIPPA) as a framework to encourage investment flows and protect investor interests. They appreciated the recent constructive engagements, reaffirmed their commitment to advancing mutually beneficial economic cooperation, and agreed to remain in close contact to pursue further progress on Pakistan Canada trade.
