Secretary General of the Asia Pacific Telecommunity, His Excellency Mr. Masanori Kondo, visited PTA Headquarters in Islamabad on 4 November 2025, meeting with Chairman PTA Major General (R) Hafeez ur Rehman, HI (M), SI and senior authority members including Muhammad Naveed (Member Finance) and Dr. Khawar Siddique Khokhar (Member Enforcement and Compliance).
During the visit the APT Secretary General engaged with PTA leadership and senior officers on strengthening regional cooperation, promoting digital inclusion and advancing ICT transformation across South Asia. Discussions highlighted priorities such as regulatory coordination, capacity building and leveraging emerging technologies to support a connected future for the region.
The delegation’s presence at PTA Headquarters reaffirmed Pakistan’s role in regional digital forums including SATRC26 and emphasized practical steps for collaboration between APT and national regulators. The focus on innovation and enforcement reflected Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to balance sector growth with consumer protection and compliance.
Mr. Kondo’s meetings with PTA officials underscored mutual commitments to deepen partnerships, accelerate digital leadership in the region and pursue initiatives that make technology accessible for all citizens while supporting sustainable telecom development in Pakistan.
